The Guest House is situated half way betwixt Leeds & York, North of the small village of Barkston Ash four miles South of Tadcaster on the A162. Post code LS24 9PU The property sits in its own 1.5 acre grounds of gardens and woodland with security gates for safe free parking and privacy. The house we believe is a Monks Lodge from the 14 century with an 19 century extension, built of the same stone as York Minster in the ashlar style. Though the property is old it has all the modern services of central heating, full mains fire alarm, high speed broadband, TVs tea and coffee making facilities. We have 4 comfortable bedrooms for your stay, a family room, double bedded room, twin room all en-suite and a single room with private bathroom all of which are strictly non smoking. The guest only lounge has a large wood burner within an original stone fireplace and is a friendly gathering place where we offer tea or coffee on arrival (only between 5pm to 7pm) Outside we have a very pleasant sitting area or bower where smoking is permitted or just enjoy the birds, trees & flowers. We are close to both Park & Rides of Leeds and York which are popular tourist attractions whilst servicing the many business in Sherburn and Tadcaster.
